Pressure washing for driveways, patios, decking and render

Home / Services / Pressure washing

Moss, algae and ground-in dirt make hard surfaces look tired and, when they're wet, slippery. How we clean each one depends on what it's made of, because the wrong pressure on the wrong surface does damage that doesn't wash out.

Surface by surface

What affects the price

We price each job after a look, because two drives of the same size can take very different amounts of work.

On the day

Please move cars off the drive and close nearby windows. Pressure washing throws up spray and grit, so we rinse down doors, walls and paths as we go, and leave the pavement clean. Block paving is re-sanded once it's dry, which can mean coming back a day or two later.

How long it stays clean

Moss and algae do come back. How quickly depends mostly on shade and damp: a shaded drive under trees, or a north-facing patio, goes green again sooner than one in full sun.

Questions

Will pressure washing damage my block paving?

It shouldn't, at the right pressure for the surface. The sand between the blocks washes out, which is why we re-sand afterwards. Loose or sunken blocks usually mean a problem underneath that washing won't fix, and we'll point them out.

Do you need to use my water?

Yes, we need an outside tap. If you haven't got one, tell us when you ask for a quote.

Can you get the black spots off my patio?

Those are usually lichen, and water pressure alone won't shift them. We'll tell you honestly what will and won't come off before we start.

Can you restore a faded tarmac drive?

If the tarmac is sound, yes: a thorough clean, then a restorer coat. If it's breaking up, we'll say so rather than sell you a coat of paint.

Ask for a driveway or patio price

Send a photo of the surface and tell us roughly how big it is. We'll arrange a look and give you a firm price.
