Window cleaning with a water-fed pole

We clean windows from the ground with a water-fed pole. It reaches the upstairs windows without a ladder, it cleans the frames and sills as well as the glass, and it normally dries clear without smears.

How a water-fed pole works

Ordinary tap water carries dissolved minerals, and when it dries on glass those minerals are what leave spots and streaks. We use purified water with the minerals taken out. It's pumped up the pole to a soft brush, we scrub the glass and frames, then rinse everything down. With nothing in the water to leave a mark, the glass normally dries clear on its own.

Because we work from the ground, there are no ladders against your walls or in your borders, and upstairs windows over a conservatory or a flat roof are much easier to reach.

Near the sea

Homes near the coast can collect a salty film on glass and frames, especially on the side facing the wind off the sea. Rinsing the frames as well as the glass helps with that, and it's one reason coastal windows can need cleaning more often than windows inland.

What affects the price

We price each house after a look or from a few photos, for a one-off clean or regular visits.

• The number and size of windows, and how many storeys.
• Conservatories, bay windows and anything hard to get to.
• Access to the back of the house.
• The first clean. Frames that haven't been done for a while take longer the first time.

On the day

You don't need to be in, as long as we can get to the back. The glass will be wet when we leave. That's expected, and it normally dries clear. We clean the outside only. If you'd like the gutters cleared on the same visit, ask.
