Gutter cleaning, priced for the whole house
Blocked gutters don't announce themselves until water runs down a wall or spills over the front door. We clear them, check the downpipes, and price the job for the whole property rather than by the metre, so you know the figure before a ladder goes up.
What the job involves
We clear the leaves, moss and silt out of every run of gutter we've agreed: front, back, and any extension, garage or outbuilding you want included. Then we check that each downpipe runs freely, flush any that are slow, and clear up whatever dropped onto paths and lawns. Before we leave, we show you photos of the cleared gutters, so you can see the job without climbing up yourself.
How often gutters need clearing
Government guidance on roof drainage from Northern Ireland's Department for Communities advises checking gutters twice a year, and more often in autumn where leaves collect. Around Tendring, blockages usually come from garden and street trees, moss washed off roofs, and debris blown in by the wind, so a house near big trees may need an extra visit once the leaves are down.
What affects the price
Our guide starts from £70 for a whole property. Tell us the type of house and roughly where it is, and we'll give you a firm price before the day.
- How many storeys, and whether every point can be reached safely.
- The total length of gutter, including extensions, garages and outbuildings.
- Access to the back: a side gate is simple; carrying ladders through a house takes longer.
- Anything underneath, such as a conservatory or a flat roof we need to work around.
- How blocked it is. A gutter with plants growing in it takes longer than a routine clear.
On the day
You'll usually deal with Jordon. We'll knock when we arrive, walk round with you if you're home, and point out anything we notice before we start, such as a loose bracket or a sagging run. If part of a gutter can't be reached safely, we'll tell you there and then rather than take the risk.
If we're there anyway, it's often worth having the windows done on the same visit. Mention it when you ask for a quote.

Questions
Do you charge by the metre?
No. We price the whole property, so you're not measuring gutters or adding up extras. Our guide starts from £70.
How often should gutters be cleared?
Twice a year is a sensible starting point, with an extra check in autumn if you have trees nearby.
Do I need to be at home?
No, as long as we can get round to the back safely and you've told us about gates, dogs or parked cars beforehand.
What if you find a broken gutter?
We'll take a photo, show you, and explain what we'd suggest. We won't do any extra work without agreeing a price with you first.
